By definition, it is not a “marriage,” qua “marriage.” It does not mean that two homosexuals cannot love each other, share each other’s lives and property, and have their relationship be what they want it to be.
The institution cannot be redefined against the will of those who define it (the people).
That being said, I oppose a Constitutional Amendment defining marriage, as our Constitution is the charter of our government, delegating specific powers to our federal government. I oppose a court redefining the institution.
This could be solved with a Constitutional Amendment reinforcing State sovereignty against court rulings.
Not yet. They lead Boston, 13-3, after five. At the Stadium, with Mussina pitching but nearing his pitch limit. Boston will eat the bullpen alive. Or they could. Wait, it’s 13-4. Thanks, Mirabelli.
Okay, if Mussina can get through the 6th, the bullpen (in a large sense) will have to take the 7th and the 8th. If it’s close at that point, Mariano gets the ninth, and that will be that.
That’s the DVD which arrived today, with shorts from Ben Turpin, Stan Laurel, Snub Pollard, and Bobby Vernon. I’ve seen plenty of Turpin, Laurel, and Pollard – Turpin worked some with Chaplin, Laurel worked with Oliver Hardy, and Pollard worked with Harold Lloyd – but I’ve seen only one Vernon short: Teddy at the Throttle, which was on The Slapstick Encyclopedia set.

I hope incumbent GOP congresspeople don’t think this is all they have to do to get votes this year.
