Fred Thompson once played a nazi. “He must be stopped!!!!”
A writer named Tina Daunt at the Los Angeles Times is clueless:
Ronald Reagan became president even though he worked with chimps in B movies.
Hahahahaha. One movie late in his film career,, one chimp. Ronald Reagan was a A-movie actor. Clueless.
But she next turns her powerful mind to Fred Thompson:
So can “Law & Order” actor and former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) become the first presidential candidate with this credit? Thompson played a white supremacist, spewing anti-Semitic comments and fondling an autographed copy of “Mein Kampf” on a television drama 19 years ago.
What ?!?
Daunt is dense. Check this out:
But in the age of YouTube, this performance could raise an intriguing political question: How does a performer eyeing a presidential run deal with a video history that can be downloaded, taken out of context, chopped into embarrassing pieces and then distributed endlessly though cyberspace?
Hey, Tina, it will be a barrel of laughs for you lefties, but the rest of us understand that play-acting is a career, a job. We know the difference between fantasy and reality
It is not fair to blame Tina. She was told to write the story and she did, and it is a legitimate question for some people. The way she wrote it was scatter-brained, but she’s a reporter. It’s what we sometimes get.

What the reporter fails to notice is that, for the past few years, Thompson has played one of the most non-cliche’d conservative characters on Law and Order
Non cliche = does not want a military coup, is not just an “evil” capitalist, etc.
If anything, I think that portrayal will give him a lot of leverage.
