Now that he’s been shamed out of the mainstream news business – quite a feat – and his little gig with Mark Cuban is going nowhere, Dan Rather feels that he’s been wrong and is entitled to a large cash award.

Rather, [NYTimes’ Jacques] Steinberg writes “asserts that the network violated his contract by giving him insufficient airtime on 60 Minutes after forcing him to step down as anchor of the CBS Evening News in March 2005. He also contends that the network committed fraud by commissioning a ‘biased’ and incomplete investigation of the flawed [National] Guard broadcast and, in the process, ’seriously damaged his reputation.’”

If the report had been unbiased and complete, it would have recommended prison time for Dan Rather.
