Republicans had charged that Dem nominee Barack Obama had refused to fist bump a youngster, and this has proven to be yet another smear. It turns out that the kid wanted Obama to autograph the child’s fist offered forth as if to bump. Obama turned down the request, and for good reasons!

“Mom might not be happy when she comes home,” Obama said. “She’ll be like, ‘What is the dirt on your hand?’

The rumor was circulated by the media, not the GOP, and I’m not sure what is the point.
